Windows Administrator with a passion for managing mission-critical applications and ensuring seamless service delivery? Join Platform Ops at NC Department of Information Technology (NCDIT), where we provide centralized management of compute resources for the State, including compute, storage, and network environments that host enterprise-class applications critical to the citizens of North Carolina. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Windows Administrator to support and manage MS Windows systems for Distributed Hosting.
As a Windows Administrator, you will be responsible for the planning, installation, configuration, deployment, support, and decommissioning of Windows and VMware-based systems. Your role will include supporting Windows infrastructure and server roles such as DNS, DHCP, AD, File and Print, IIS, SQL, and more. You will work closely with application owners for system integration and testing, conduct quality assurance in the delivery of systems, and provide incident and problem resolution. Your contributions will ensure the reliable operation of an enterprise-scale environment running mission-critical applications.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
- Experience in enterprise-level Windows system administration
- Operational support experience in multi-platform client/server IT environments (e.g., monitoring systems, providing technical assistance, managing incidents, configuration, deploying, security controls implementation, ensuring efficient workflows)
- VMware engineering experience
The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:
- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
- Tanium experience
- Experience using automation tools
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
Some state job postings say you can qualify by an ‘equivalent combination of education and experience.’ If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both. Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressive experience in systems software programming
OR
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in systems software programming; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

If you are a former member of the NC National Guard who served for at least 6 years and was discharged under honorable conditions, you must attach either a DD256 or NGB 22.

HYBRID/FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULES:
At NCDIT, we are dedicated to fostering a collaborative and flexible work environment, offering a hybrid remote work option for positions that are conducive to remote flexibility. If you do not currently reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned duty station, new hires are granted up to 120 days from their start date to relocate.
