King County Library System (KCLS) is looking for an engaging and customer oriented Digital Equity Coordinator. This position reports to the Adult & Community Services Manager and works to develop and coordinate system-wide programs and services for adult patrons that address Digital Equity.
About the Opportunity:
As the Digital Coordinator at KCLS, you will have a unique opportunity to advance the mission of the library system by developing and overseeing system-wide services that address the needs of adult patrons most impacted by digital inequities. The Digital Equity Coordinator represents KCLS and KCLS interests in interactions with area social service agencies, governmental entities, and other relevant organizations.

Advises on development of local services in collaboration with community librarians to support KCLS goals focused on digital equity.
Serves as a resource partner and subject matter expert to communicate and clarify digital equity strategies for librarians and other public services staff.
Supports development of awareness and understanding of the significance of digital equity in library programs and services
Develops and implements digital equity programs and services that support the successful advancement of adult learners through digital literacy, technical support, and internet access and affordability.
Explores, initiates, builds, and maintains partnerships with community and educational organizations that serve adults throughout the county to create digital equity and economic empowerment. Represents KCLS in community partnerships and coordinates partner participation and library staff.
Manages project workflows and supports successful delivery of virtual and in-person services that include one-on-one appointments, classroom instruction, community engagement, and working with volunteers.
Collects and uses data to analyze programs and services with a digital equity lens. Formulates and assesses new service models and opportunities based on current trends and developments in digital equity.
Selects, coaches, develops, and manages performance for assigned staff.
Secondary Duties
- Participates in the planning and distribution of promotional materials for programs in specialty areas.
- Serves on internal and external committees.
- Makes presentations on KCLS Programs and Services
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience The items listed below are the minimum requirements for the job and are relevant to this position. The organization values both work experience and education and realizes that individuals take different paths to acquire knowledge. - A bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Social Sciences, Education, Digital Instruction or related field,
- Three years’ experience planning, implementing, and evaluating multiple modes of access to technology.
- Two years’ experience performing outreach to diverse communities and/or building long-term partnerships with community members, agencies, and organizations to coordinate and implement programs and/or projects.
- Experience as a manager or education in management principles, preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary qualifications to successfully perform the duties of the position will be considered.
