You’ll be responsible for: All Library Clerk positions will: - Provide exceptional customer service at the blended service desks, working closely with team members.
- Contribute to creating a welcoming and enjoyable space for community members of all ages and backgrounds.
- Use point-of-sale systems to complete transactions for Second Story and Beyond.
- Help to create and maintain a safe Library space utilizing the Library's policies and Code of Conduct.
- Exhibit a strong sense of teamwork and support of library programs and services.
Circulation: - Work under the direction of the Circulation Supervisor to support the Library’s Circulation functions, including checkout and account services, LINK+, and Passport services.
- Train and direct staff on Circulation practices and procedures.
- Act as a certified Passport Agent in conformance with directives and training of the Department of State.
- Handle ticket sales, point of sale (POS) transactions, and daily cash reconciliation.
- Provide support to the Library Administration division on an as-needed basis.

Education and/or Experience:Graduation from high school or equivalent and one year of library experience or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation; principles of basic mathematics; basic bibliographic research tools. Ability to perform a variety of library clerical work with speed and accuracy; use a computer terminal and its functions; follows oral and written instructions; operates office machines and equipment; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
