DEFINITION
Be the welcoming face of the Sue Corbett Active Adult Center! This dynamic role serves as the first point of contact for our vibrant senior community, creating a positive and engaging experience for every visitor. In this fast-paced environment, you will manage front desk operations, answer phones, assist with program registrations, and provide helpful information about center activities and services.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
This position reports to the SCAAC Manager.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Greets customers as they enter the facility. Provide general information regarding programs and services.
Answer the telephone and wait on the general public, providing general information regarding programs and services; refer calls and visitors to appropriate personnel; take and refer messages as required.
Registers participants in classes and other recreational activities, collects fees and provides receipts.
Enter and retrieve other data and information using a computer terminal.
Prepares routine daily and monthly cash reports, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation of all transactions.
Assists staff in contacting participants to notify them of cancellations or postponements when necessary.
Perform a wide variety of routine clerical work including filing, billing, checking and recording information on records.
Overall responsibility for the lending closet. Includes keeping inventory of lending closet and assists with the check-out/check-in of equipment.
Provides back up to the Volunteers of America (VOA) Dining Center program aide.
Keeps informed of daily, weekly, and monthly activities at the Sue Corbett Active Adult Center in order to effectively assist participants and provide accurate information about programs, events, and services.
Is aware of senior resources in the area and is able to direct the participants to these services.
Assumes responsibility for the Sue Corbett Active Adult Center in absence of other staff.
Shall be familiar with and promote the aims and objectives, rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the City of Brighton.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Principles and procedures of record keeping.
Modern office methods, practices, procedures, and computer equipment.
Physical, social, mental, and emotional changes that occur with aging.
City and departmental policies, programs, and activities.
How to access community resources.
Budgeting and basic math skills.
Ability to:

Perform general clerical work including maintenance of appropriate records and compiling information for reports under minimal supervision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
One year of general clerical experience including public contact. Equivalent to the completion of twelfth grade. Customer service experience required Understanding and experience with RecTrac software or other Recreation Software’s highly desirable. Cash handling experience highly desirable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to perform moderate physical work, to lift 25 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, ride, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, reach, grasp, push, pull and perform similar body movements.
Possesses hand/eye/foot coordination adequate to operate office equipment including a computer terminal and operate a vehicle.
Ability to talk and hear in person and by telephone.
Ability to see and read instructions, manuals, characters on a computer screen, and observe volunteer work programs.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Current certification in C.P.R. and First Aid.
Valid Colorado driver’s license with safe driving record.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Ability to complete FEMA ICS 100 and IS 700 training within six (6) months of hire.
